In the build up to National Meadows Day… a fun filled family day to celebrate wildflower meadows and their wealth of wildlife. Guided walks and talks, scything demonstrations and competitions, arts and crafts, vintage machinery, music and merriment are all part of the packed programme.
In the run up to National Meadows Day, come to a two-day community hay harvest with scything workshops and a public talk on Saturday and haystack building and scything competition and public picnic on the Sunday afternoon.
In celebration of National Meadows Day on 1 July 2017. Bring your supper picnic, bottle of bubbly and small picnic blanket (in a rucksack). We’ll go for a gentle walk around the colourful meadows led by Melanie Wrigley.
Flood Meadows Survey Day at Seaton Meadows, Rutland
Join us on National Meadows Day, we’ll be surveying Seaton meadows, a Plantlife Reserve, to record the abundance of classic flood meadow herbs including great burnet, meadow vetchling, pepper-saxifrage and meadowsweet. Beginners welcome.
Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Wildflower Meadow Open Day, Powys
Join us from 12 pm on National Meadows Day at Gerddi Bro DdYfi Gardens to celebrate our wildflower meadow and how it is benefiting the wildlife of the Machynlleth. With activities ranging from flower crafts to bug hunts there will be something for everyone to join in and have fun.
If you go down to the meadow on National Meadows Day you will find music, arts, craft, bug hunts, face painting, wildflowers, bees and butterflies and much much more to help you celebrate National Meadows Day with us.
Chapel Meadow is a fine lowland wildflower meadow, part of a Biological Heritage Site owned by Parbold Parish Council. On National Meadows Day there will be a guided walk at 2.00 pm which will be suitable for families.
To celebrate National Meadows Day come on a flower identification walk from Keld to Muker through the flower-rich hay meadows that Swaledale is famous for. In association with the Yoredale Natural History Society.
